N-Gage Game Titles Are Locked To Users Phones!

Love it or hate it, Nokia’s N-Gage platform is still around, though what after effects this news regarding N-Gage games will have is still unknown.

Nokia have confirmed, that when users upgrade to a new phone, they will NOT be able to transfer any games from their previous phones to their new ones. This is due to their methods of combating piracy. Since the game activation code is linked to the phone’s IMEI number, the same activation code will not be able to be used on a new phone.

It gets worse. Nokia’s customer care department says that they can only transfer games if a phone is replaced at a repair centre under the terms of its guarantee. Translated? Nokia will not transfer games if your phone happens to get spoilt outside of the guarantee period, and needs to be replaced.

Though its fair for Nokia to have interest to protect their games and profits, its really unfair to end users who have their games tied to their phones and want to upgrade, especially since the people who will feel the pinch there most at the people who are most loyal. The more games you get, the more it will hurt.

AT&T Rushing out HSPA For the 3G iPhone's launch?

Previously, there were reports regarding AT&T’s plans to drastically improve its HSPA coverage by the end of June, and is most likely related to the release of the 3G iPhone. Back then, EDGE speeds more than doubled just prior to the release of the first iPhone, so the timing of these HSPA upgrades should make sense.

AT&T seem to be spreading up these data speeds mainly for the reason that the 3G iPhone will sport a front camera, which will be really handy for video calling. Though not as popular as when it was first envisioned, its still a very good method of communication.
