Mumbai, July 16, 2009 – LifeSize Communications, Inc., the global leader in high definition video communications, today announced LifeSize Multipoint 230, the next generation high definition video communications bridge supporting up to Full HD (High Definition) 1080p30 multiparty conferences, while delivering the best price performance in its class. Also announced, the LifeSize Control 4.5 management platform that delivers enhanced support for multi-vendor video networks, as well as integration capabilities with leading system management applications, enabling HD video communications to be seamlessly integrated into the enterprise IT framework.
With the addition of these best of breed systems LifeSize again raises the bar for superior quality and unmatched price performance, delivering total Full HD solutions to enterprise customers.
Utilizing the latest in DSP technology, LifeSize Multipoint 230 is an enterprise-class system enabling up to 30 sites to communicate simultaneously, via video, in True HD, 720p at 30 frames, and 15 sites to participate in Full HD, 1080p at 30 frames for natural, immersive multiparty calls. Multipoint 230 will also support increased capacity for Standard Definition(SD) systems, up to 120 SD systems at 360p, 30 frames per second.
The LifeSize 230’s unique flexibility provides conference participants an easy-to-use interface, with new features including user-definable screen layout, while empowering the system administrator with centralized management and control of system settings and conferences. Delivering the best price performance per port of MCU’s in its class, the LifeSize 230 makes HD bridging even more accessible, empowering more participants to meet face-to-face at a distance.

The LifeSize Multipoint 230 is a 3U MCU designed for organizations that require large capacity multiparty calls. Multipoint 230 delivers:

· Full HD 1080p, and True HD 720p resolution, at 30 frames per second sustained.
· Unique flexibility and control:
· Dynamic port capacity allows additional calls to be added even after maximum call capacity is reached, by automatically down speeding calls to accommodate more participants.
· Participants can now place calls up to 12Mbps enabling maximum call speeds for the most demanding applications.
· Simplified user interface for users and administrators alike:
· Administrators can centrally manage and control system settings and conferences from an easy-to-use graphical Web interface.
· End-user interaction is even easier with new features:
• Video Auto Attendant interface enables click-to-create and join calls.
• Conference features are clearly indicated with onscreen overlay icons to indicate number of audio participants on the call, if the call is encrypted, or recorded.
• New personal layout feature enables user-selectable layout with 7 different layout options.
LifeSize® Control™ 4.5
LifeSize Control enterprise video network management provides administrators centralized control of distributed video communications networks.
LifeSize Control is the only management platform that seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Outlook and Exchange without desktop plug-ins. Standards-based and open, LifeSize Control easily integrates into existing unified communications platforms. This feature rich platform allows management and control of heterogeneous, multi-vendor video environments, and with release 4.5 includes scheduling of both multi-vendor endpoints and MCU’s through Microsoft Exchange.
Further integrating Control into the enterprise IT framework, release 4.5 provides SNMP interoperability supporting integration with 3rd party network and systems management solutions such as HP OpenView™ and Tivoli TME™.
Availability
LifeSize Multipoint 230 with support for 720p30 will be available in the 3rd quarter 2009. 1080p30 and Dynamic Port Capacity support will be available as a software upgrade in the 4th quarter, 2009. LifeSize Control 4.5 software will be available for download in the 3rd quarter, 2009.
